I have toured MANY home facility options in Fresno and this company was wonderful, with many great residential options. The home itself is beautiful, modern and cozy. The caregivers at 2 different homes we used within their company were excellent. In particular the home on Serena was a wonderful place. Never one time was my loved one not well kept and peaceful. The care and diligence was excellent. There is also relief care for the primary caregivers which is important; some homes in Fresno have a live couple who do not get any relief shift coverage--but that is not the model for this company. I adored the primary caregivers, they became like family, updating me appropriately when my loved one had changes and ensuring we had lovely visits.

We gave the activities n/a because they don't have planned activities but they do take my father in law on walks which we appreciate. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend this community to other families!

I moved my family member in and he lasted 13 days before he died. It cost me $[fee removed] to move in. I paid for 3 days of one month ($[fee removed]) and 10 days of the next month ($[fee removed]). That was a total of $[fee removed] for 13 days. My understanding was I would receive the initial $[fee removed] back if the patient left or died in the first 90 days. I was refunded $[fee removed]. So the total cost came to $[name removed], or $[fee removed] per day. The explanation for the amount of the refund was unclear to me so I called. It still was unclear. I would not recommend sending another family member there under those terms.

Everything was good there. The help is excellent. My father in law loved the food. I would definitely recommend it. My father in law wasn't there very long since he passed away, but it was a good experience while we were there.

Trust that the staff is giving you good advice but make sure to look over the facilities that are suggested by the staff and report back to them any negative feedback. They are always very respectful and willing to help.

The staff were wonderful at A Place Called Home Residential Care. It's a family atmosphere there and the residents were happy and engaged. The facilities are in great neighborhoods and they are bright and cheery. My mom's stay was very short, but I really appreciated the main house managers at her location. Nice, helpful and very capable. They kept it very clean and uncluttered.

My father in law was there a month and passed away. Got the best care ever and I highly recommend. The staff was so good to him. [name removed] and [name removed] took extra care because he was more difficult. He had to go to hospice care pretty quick. He loved it there.

I looked at a lot of different places and A Place Called Home was by far the best. The gal I spoke with on the phone initially was the one who gave the tour. It was clean and did not smell. The other residents were clean and looked well taken care of that we could see. The location is great as well. I would highly recommend them to anybody looking. It is a very friendly environment and the staff are very caring towards their residents. There are only 6 residents here and the care is great with it being such a small facility.

A Place Called Home Residential Care is comfortable and so clean. The home itself is absolutely beautiful and probably one of the nicest homes my mom has ever lived in. They're like a family unit because they all eat and dine together. The in-home caregivers have children, so they'll do activities with the kids. It really is like a family, and my mom sees it as her home.

The caregivers aren't the greatest at all. I would NEVER recommend this assisted living facility to anyone. It sounds good when you have your first meeting, but believe me that's not the way it is for your loved ones. The caregivers are terrible cooks!!! They speak in their foreign language when the owners aren't around. They spend alot of their time on their cell phones (which is a big no-no). Too much sandwiches and fried food is given to the residents. Fresh fruit, organic food items and baked fish or meat should be served to them instead. The caregiver only care about getting the residents fed as fast as possible.....then making them go to their room. Especially after they have their dinner. So think about it before you put your family member at their facilities.

My husband was at the 2827 Calimyrna home for eight months with the most wonderful and caring staff that you could ever want. They were ever watchful of him, calling an ambulance twice to get him to the hospital as soon as the need was suspected; once during the day and once during the night. The home and yards are beautifully maintained with regular repair and refurbishing being done. Both [name removed] & his brother [name removed] were always available and so politely took care of any concerns or answered any questions. At mealtimes, especially dinner, the aroma of always "home cooked" dishes filled the house! There were always decorations for various holidays to make it "homey". i believe anyone could feel very comfortable having their loved one cared for at any of these homes. [name removed]

My husband is a resident of A Place Called Home. Moving him from our home was the most difficult decision I have ever had to make. It took me months, even with the urging of his children, to arrive at the acceptance that I could no longer care for him. Once the decision was made, my sister and I visited every conceivable place we could find. My sister and brother-in-law ownedand ran a Board and Care, specifically designed for our mother when she became incapacited. Having that kind of experience in the search for the perfect placement for my husband was invaluable. From the "Big Box Stores" to individual houses, we searched high and low. We found mostly low to mediocre to "would do". And then we found [Removed] and A Place Called Home. We knew we had found the ideal place. [Removed] background as an ICU and Hospice RN made the decision even easier. His dedication to the residents and hands on approach to the well being of his wards is laudable. That dedication carries on with all of the caregivers, as well. They are compassionate, patient and loving people. All of the five houses of A Place Called Home are immaculate. The food is freshly prepared and the house is beautifully appointed. It looks like a home, not an institution. It is comfortable and upscale homey. [Removed] and his brother Colin have the unique ablilty to make you feel as though your loved one is the most important person they care for. That is because ALL of the residents in their homes truly are the most important people they care for. There is no higher recommendation I can offer other than, I know that there is no better place to be found where your mother, father, sister, brother, husband or wife would be cared for with any higher level of excellence. It is an exceptional place with exceptional people.

When I came to see this home, everything was fine and it was great to get a quick response from A Place For Mom with referrals. We felt that it would not work out here for our loved one. We were looking for something more hands on with the care.

My Mom has never received better care than when she moved to APCH. The premises are immaculate and are designed to provide the best in a "home like" setting while providing ample access. My Mom is a mild diabetic (controlled by medications) and has always struggled with maintaining her blood sugar levels. Not here. The meals are lovingly prepared, have a wonderful variety to appeal to picky eaters, and are nutritionally balanced. Mom's blood sugars haven't been this low for years. The true strength of APCH is in the caregivers. Dealing with residents who have dementia is not always easy. However the caregivers treat each resident with respect and dignity. I have never seen them raise their voice or become impatient. In fact I could honestly say that they treat the residents as they would their own aging parents. Lastly, each house is developed as a micro-community, so that all residents in a particular house have the same care needs. It has been a blessing to have found APCH for Mom.

They are really clean, and super friendly. It's so nice having one on one care. They do play some bingo, and take her to go and sit by the lake. Every time I go they are cooking something that smells really good. We liked where the other residents were as far as being highly functional.
