Good choice for truly independent adults looking for community and security.
The Amberlin is truly independent living-there are no meals or transportation service. They do promote community by hosting some events, and there are exercise classes. It's a better for for those which still drive or have someone who will provide transportation, and who still shop for their own groceries and other essentials. It's not a good fit for those who need extra assistance unless the resident has made arrangements of their own for that care. The community feels secure, with gated parking, front doors locked after 5 pm, and all mother doors only accessible with a resident key fob. The amenities are nice and well maintained.

My new home
Staff is very friendly. It's a new building and has a few things that need to be finished off yet. So far it's very quiet. Activities are limited at this point, but will pick up.
I have the smallest one bedroom apartment with a view over the courtyard. It's very comfortable. I wanted to downsize so this is what I needed. Still seems like I have way too much stuff.

Avoid This Apartment Community
I moved to Amberlin Georgetown in October. Since moving to this new apartment community, I have experienced a variety of issues. The construction materials are cheap and the finish-out work is sloppy. During move in, I discovered holes in a wall, nails protruding from walls, cracks in both the front and balcony door frames, a missing kitchen backsplash tile and a loud rattling noise in the HVAC unit. Work orders for the backsplash tile and HVAC unit were submitted in late October. On-site management has not been responsive and I eventually contacted the regional manager for action. The HVAC unit was not repaired until [date removed] and I have heard nothing about backsplash tile. Due to the cheap construction, I can hear every step my upstairs neighbor and her huge dog take.
Based on my experience, I would definitely not recommend Amberlin Georgetown to potential residents.

I would recommend to others who are looking for independent living
With the care services - there is no care given, this is true independent living, there is also food provided. Amenities are great, beautiful outdoor area. It's a new community so they are still establishing programming, but it's been fun for my mom and she loves the outdoor area. There's no concierge or front desk to call if you have problems, so it's not for those who may need occasional assistance.

Amberlin Georgetown is a great place to be and call home. I love where I live. I've elevated and balanced my lifestyle and engaged in community living. It's peaceful and convenient. I'm comfortable, and I enjoy connecting with other residents.
