Our experience with Cogir memory care

The memory care staff is excellent. Activities, yes they do have them. Memory care has good food and dining in the the memory care room. They did raise the rent in Sept. After they said it would be a while until they would raise it - I was not very happy about that.

Beautiful facility

Everything is great except for limited parking. [name removed] said she would give [name removed] time to adjust and check up on her periodically. She was very helpful and caring. Its great that they offer meals throughout the day but I haven’t eaten there yet.

Though we ended our experience much much sooner than we expected, they were kind and helpful and accommodating. Would recommend for the ease, the food, the answering of too many questions- always with a smile

They are doing a good job with my Uncle Tony. T

They keep the facility clean and the staff is very helpful. The food is good and they have a good menu. The outside grounds are taken care of, everything looks nice. They have entertainer come in for happy hour and I think the residents enjoy it.

It's a nice place to start to get a feel for Assisted Living

For the most part the facility and staff were very supportive. It's a place to go if you're still and active person and want to see what it's like to live in an assisted living facility. The exercise room was extremely lacking. I wasn't involved in the activities but there wasn't anything that they had that I was interested in.

Our families experience

My mom is no longer there. We had to pull her about 3.5 weeks into her stay. They were awful, put my mom into danger several times, and treated her horribly. This is for the type of stay my had, she needed more care to recover from her fractured back. It may be completely different from someone who may live there and can get around on there own.

I took my husband out about a year ago . They were raising the prices too much. They lure you in with savings and then begin raising the price once you're in there. People just can't pay it.

Pass this one up

We went into the facility and it was very quiet. It was midday. No seniors in the activity area. Only thing seen were word search puzzles. The doors are dirty to the rooms. A fresh coat of paint needed for sure. Trash on floor. Asked if there were gardening activities and there was a very small area to plant about rectangular sized … about 3 by 4 feet. There was water puddled from the rain gutter. Very possible slip hazard. There were cushions tossed in a corner of the property. When we did see the rooms one bed a table and tv with joined bathroom. There were no real interaction between staff and patients. Most seen were in there rooms and just not what I would want for my loved one. I would have a home for mom not sponsor this place. Pass this one by.

I was taken by representative [name removed] he took me on tour of Cogir as l was looking for my parents unfortunately it’s more than they could afford. [name removed] gave me a thorough trip from beginning to ending answering All my questions, & l had a lot.lol . His professional caring, relaxed, charming manner made it easy. I met very happy residents and the place is clean decorated nicely. Just wanted to take the time to say something nice. Thank you& blessings to you all.

Review for Cogir of Manteca Senior Living

For the most part, it was fine. When he had to go to the hospital, they wouldn't allow him to come back, claiming his care needs exceeded what they could provide despite him being in better condition and making progress through short-term rehab. Also, it didn't help that this was right around the holidays, so I was scrambling to find a new facility. So as long as there no issues or major changes needed, even if temporary, it's a decent place.

never recommend, overpromised underdelivered, lack of care

They should not be influenced by what they say they will do. We were promised our mom would be in the best hands, they assessed our mom as a level 10 care patient and charged us $[removed] for 30 days just for her care, rent was another $[removed]. They barely provided any care and some not all but some.of the care givers were not qualified to care for our mom. They left her alone in the bathroom and one gentleman not only left her but got on his phone.

Wonderful and great Acclimation

For the most part, the community is wonderful. Friendly, and the staff made a point to get my dad involved and make new friends. We picked this community, because of the proximity to me, cost, and overall community. I was also familiar with it as my grandmother was there before it became a Cogir.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the California regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about California regulations for Assisted Living.

A Place for Mom has scored Cogir of Manteca Senior Living 8.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
