Beyond our expectations
I cannot say enough good things about Koda Caregivers and [name removed]. They took care of my 90-year-old father and were so caring and patient. My father has early dementia as well as significant mobility problems. In addition, to taking wonderful care of him, they helped my mother with many daily activities to lessen her stress. My parents decided to move closer to us which is 400 miles away, so we had to leave the care of Koda last week. [name removed]was so nice that she even personally went to my parents' home and helped them pack when my mom sounded stressed on the phone. They constantly went beyond expectations in all aspects of care. You will be 100% satisfied if you use Koda Caregivers. [name removed]

Their service sets the standard
Koda Caregivers has provided respectful, compassionate and patient support in their caregiving. Our caregiver has provided exceptional care to my 98 year old mother who had a stroke and has dementia. She has assimilated in our family, earning our trust and confidence. Koda has been extremely flexible and responsive to our scheduling needs, as we often have many changes requiring additional support. These instances have sometimes required another caregiver, who have all been simply wonderful. Our family truly appreciates the care Koda has provided as we navigated this most difficult transition. Their partnership has been a blessing. Their service sets the standard! [name removed]

Fail to Vet their CG Background and Performence
1st CG they sent can talk all day - she volunteered the info that her previous customer complainted to Koda for this and costed her 3 weeks without work until they sent her to me. 2nd CG was even worse - 1st day went ok, 2nd day he was suppose to walk in the neighborhood but instead he drove my husband with severe dementia to Laguna Beach without asking for my permission. When I called and learned he went to the beach. I told him to come right back he said NO, and he wanted to spend the day in the beach. I immediately hung up and call the owner. 30 minutes later CG drove my husband back and screaming in my driveway that I jailed my husband at home and wanted to take him to a facility. 2 minutes after he left my house, he drove back and took picture of my house. All these were witnessed by my 2 neighbors, and I videotapped for KODA owner.

Review for Koda Caregivers
The Owners of Koda Care were great, but I did find they didn't really listen to our needs. That being said, we did not articulate well since we really didn't know what to ask. They did recommend coming to the hospital while my mom was in there and that was helpful, but we ended up with 3 different caretakers (which I understand), but it meant I had to stay overnight to train each one. One was a go getter, and helped with organizing, but was a little much; one was quiet and would do what was asked, but showed up sick one day and the 3rd one, just sat and watched tv with my mom. I think my mom felt like she had to entertain them too much. Again, we didn't really have a plan to direct them on what to do. They were expensive and we found the minimum of 4 hours more than my mom could take. Hope this helped.

Frequently Asked Questions
about Koda Caregivers

A Place for Mom has scored Koda Caregivers 3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
