Meridian at Stone Creek

My mom is happy with her cottage, but hasn't had the best experience with the managers there. They promised several things during our tour that weren't true. Now the cottages aren't even reserved for 55+ any longer.

Head Nurse [name removed] & crew took very good care of my wife during her stay at Stone Creek. Activities Director [name removed] recognized my wife's extensive experience as a church pianist & utilized my wife's skills to keep the commons area lively when classes were not in session. The only caution I would give is Stone Creek doesn't accept Medicaid at all, there is not a spend down. If you need Medicaid within a few years this excellent community is not an option. Thanks to Stone Creek for being such a caring facility.

Good food. Activities staff is amazing. They transported my mom weekly to see my dad until he passed. Clean environment. Abundant activity opportunities. Great on site Physical Therapy.

The first 20 days, the food was almost inedible. I gave my notice to leave about 45 days from the time I moved in. For that big above facility, the administration was inadequate. About 2 weeks after my notice, the food improved, and it looked like they were trying to make the environment a little better.

The facility was very clean when my mom moved in, but they've had a lot of turnover and although it's still a nice facility...it's not as clean. Same for the food, it's hit and miss. That said, my mom loves living there, she has lots of friends and stays active.

Our experience was quite different from the time we signed the paperwork to when my mom passed. The ratings for each category at the end are different - 1. 2, 2. 4, 3. 2-3, 4. 2, 5. 2, 6. 1, 7. 2, 8. 2-3. Had changed from the beginning to the end. At the beginning it was great; at the end, things were lacking. 2. Cleanliness remained fine. The rooms were beautiful and I wouldn't have minded living in one of the rooms myself! 3. At the beginning there was an atmosphere of friendliness and warmth and personal care. By the end, the staff seemed overwhelmed with less time to interact with the residents. The receptionist never noticed that I never signed in or signed out. It was difficult to get a hold of anyone on the phone if we called the facility. - No one answered. 4. At the beginning the staff were very pleasant and competent. By the end, the staff seemed stressed and short on time. During my mom's last two weeks I had stayed with her and there were times when I actually had to go looking for staff to help my mom, especially during the night. If my mom had needed help, she might not have had any response from the staff for over 45 minutes had I not been there. Not the staff who dispensed the meds, but the supporting staff, commented that they did not have individual pagers themselves and that they needed to go back to their station to look to see if they were needed somewhere. That was very disconcerting to me and I spoke to the administration regarding this. They were going to address this problem. The staff was supposed to be checking on my mom every two hours right before she passed, but this did not always happen. It was very difficult to gain access to the new administrator and nurse. When we finally did we found them caring. 6. There was a HUGE difference in the quality of the food. When we began, it was very, very good! However, when we left it was definitely not the same quality in taste or presentation e.g. sandwiches were barely thrown together, quality of fish was inferior, salads were ugly with fewer fresh vegies on top. 6. My mom was not really able to participate in many of the activities. I had heard of activities at different facilities that sounded fun, but nothing to get excited about here. 8. I don't really know. At the beginning, yes. Toward the end the overall experience had greatly changed. I had heard that there was a huge turnover in staff - administrator, nurse, fewer caregivers to residents, a new cook. Had I not stayed with my mom to help make sure she had the care she needed, I would have been very dissatisfied .

-0 on all!! 1 ).... This place was a total disgrace to say the least & they did Not even clean as they promised before I moved in !! I had I believe it was 6 weeks before I moved in & was a dirty mess !! I didn't feel at all welcome when moving in when I had problems & went & told them nothing got done & was told the gal who hired me was no longer there either !! 2) .... It was Not clean as promised. I should have gone back over 2 days before my move in & checked but was packing & busy aside from the fact they kept promising me sll would be cleaned. The gal quit I was told just before I did move in. The refrigerator really needed cleaning as dirty inside & door shelves a real mess, kitchen & both bathroom sinks were dirty, washing machine had gunk all around top when lifting the lid, dryer still very full of lint, floors were dirty & things stuck on floor, master bath toilet dirty & ants all over the floor there & in the kitchen floor, stripping between carpet & tole floor in each doorway had gunk coming out from under it, refrigerator leaked water from somewhere yet Didn't have an ice maker in it, kitchen faucet had to be screwed down as moved around, & none of the carpets were cleaned !! I called the fire dept. "2" as leaking natural gas at cooking stove & they advised me to Not use the cooking stove at all so had to buy an electric skillet to cook my meals or go out & eat !! 3) .... New girl often at desk when I paid rent & not very friendly, management would hardly even acknowledge you. 4) .... I can't speak about quality of care as didn't need that area !! 5) .... Administrative Staff avoided you when you came in & didn't speak. 6) .... As for the food I looked at it 3 different times & didn't look good & "1st" time I looked at it there were ants crawling all over the plate & area it sat on !! In checking back later the food was Not appetizing at all then either so never checked again !! Area didn't even smell appetizing when walking into the dinning room either !! 7) .... I never was told of any activities & just assumed there were none as never saw anything listed nor told there was snything to do. 8) .... This whole experience was most Extra Costly for me as had to hire movers again to get moved out !! For what it cost at this place, it was a super JOKE & I have told absolutely every one what a Total Old Run Down Dump that this whole Expensive Sad Experience this was !! Just "1" month before leaving I requested someone come look at this dump. The man who came down, with both the 2 young maintenance boys, told me he was one of the owners. I took him to the master bathroom & showed him all the "Ants" all over the floor & he just shrugged his shoulders. When I showed him all the gunk on the floor under the strips between carpet & tile where gunk was coming out, both times he said Well, why haven't you cleaned this up ?? I reminded him immediately was to be done before I moved in & also that I was "83" years old & can't get down on the floor !! About this same time I found out one of the management was jailed for Embezzlement of stealing "money" as she was doing the books !! I hope this answers your quarry as to my experience at this Horrible & Horriffic Dump !!

My dad moved in a few months ago. The price was good compared to other memory care communities. The facility is laid out nicely and rooms are big. Semi private rooms are especially nice because even though they share a bathroom they have their own entrance to their room. The help has been the hard part. They have struggled with employment and consistency. Many times residents are unattended or when an employee is present there is little to no interaction with residents. There aren’t regular activities going on. I’ve seen other communities where employees actually care about their residents, and there are consistent activities. There is little communication with family. Rooms/bathrooms are not regularly cleaned and sanitized to a minimum standard. I have given feedback and am hopeful this will change because it has so much potential to be a great community.

I needed to move my mom into Meridian at Stone Creek while also dealing with my stepdad being in and out of the hospital and nursing facilities at the same time. [name removed] worked with us through the application and move-in process. She is incredible and truly made the process as easy as it could have been. She went above and beyond more than a few times making it possible for my mom to move in with the least amount of effort and in a very short time frame. Her apartment is very nice, very accommodating, and very comfortable. The common dining room and lobby have a beautiful and inviting atmosphere with a wonderful fireplace. It feels like an elegant hotel lobby. Thank you to [name removed] for all her efforts and help!

Unless management has changed, this is not a safe environment for your loved one. They are a no lift community so as your loved one ages, they will not be able to get them out of bed and into a wheelchair. They do not disclose their limitations so there is no way of dealing with people who end up with physical limitations besides to let them lie in bed and grow bed sores. All of these establishments go through managerial and staffing changes and the phase that they were in when my dad was being cared for meant that he was not being cared for adequately. We reported the facility to the state and I'm sure that they will go through a series of change and hopefully become a better environment for people.

It's been a little confusing with the staff turnover, but generally fine.

I guess it's fair to say that I have mediocre feelings about Meridian at Stone Creek. One always hopes that their loved ones will get super good care. This place is busy and they do the best that they can, I guess. All the hype about activities was just that, hype. The staff are nice people, it seems, but there's a limit to how many dirty diapers one can change without getting jaded. The price is crazy high, but isn't it everywhere?

Extremely poor & overwhelming for anyone to gave to be put in & thru!! Absolutely so filthy I've only unpacked a very few things I knew where to find. The rest I refuse to expose to this filth to use !! The young gal who is the "1" & only one at this whole place has told me so many times they don't supply her with the cleaning supplies she needs & that there is absolutely no way she can do this all by herself. I went & bought her several things to clean some here & then I said forget it a the whole place from the ceiling, walls floors etc need cleaning. I just notices some of the floor is separating yesterday too but haven't told them yet. They won't fix it anyway!! It's a 1 with almost No friendliness. The 2 maintenance guys are mostly friendly & very leery to say anything for fear of retaliation. 1 of the 2 just had enough & quit last week. They don't give them hardly anything to do any repairs either !! I've had a broken toilet seat for 3 weeks now & they can't seem to come get it fixed. Least my 2nd bathroom has one that's O.K. for right now!! I don't use their quality of care as I am independent. Have heard several complaining about it though. I refuse to eat in the dining room after listening to what others have told me & that the cooks are filthy & more are needed to do the job. Plus they way way too much for meals here !! As far as activities I'm Not interested in anything they have aside from the fact the few that do attend need to be totally helped from what I've heard. I don't mix in with the folks that are there for partial nor total help as they are paying for it & this place needs to be there to help them .. not me helping them !! My rating of this place is a total - - - - - 100 & No plus to it !! The water pressure is so low it hardly comes out & absolutely none of it is Hot !! It's a total loss !! The independent area I'm in might be 1/4 full if that even !! Very sad !!

It was good initially but went downhill quick. Too much overturn of employees and the food end up being not so great. I think the biggest thing was that the staff turnover was big and ended up not being friendly. The room itself was good.

My parents moved here in July 2023 and in the beginning things were decent. Food was good, activities and services were all positive. That lasted about two months and things have gone downhill since. Massive staff turnovers. The Chef left, the menu options are minimized, they are constantly out of food options and residents are not given alternatives. Not offered a lot of fresh fruits and veggies at all. The housekeeping service is minimal, they will vacuum and wipe down the bathroom. Turn over in that areas also means there have been weeks they don't show. Also, pay for laundry and that hasn't always been done. In the recent couple months, the bathroom toilet runs constantly, they said they fixed once but still has issues. Currently having issues with no hot water and a pipe bursting causing flooding. These would all be easier issues to handle but they do not communicate with residents. If you want to know you have to ask the front desk, calls to exec dir no response

The items I rated lower than the best here are the reasons: cleanliness is basically because of the consistent and bothersome bird poop at the entry way, quality is rated at four because sometimes it is difficult to know who to talk to when I have questions and I seldom get calls back when I leave messages. Food rated at 3 is from what I've seen in the memory care area does not seem to be the same level as what they serve in the dining room. That could be partly a memory care issue not really sure.

My loved one was previously a resident at Meridian at Stone Creek and our experience was poor. My suggestion to others: make sure that they are doing all of the things that you are paying them to do to care for your loved one!

Over the course of 6 mos this place has gone from great and clean to suffering staffing shortages resulting in unhealthy uncleaniness and restaurant server shortages. Big personnel turnover. Hoping for changes for the better soon

Mom dug her heals for 2+ yrs, 84 a widow for 4 years, independent and still driving. Mom had in her mind nursing home when we broached the subject of a senior community. We thought this summer we would ease her into the thought of a senior living so we made some appointments to visit afew. Hmmm the first two gave me a nursing home vibe, we didn’t see anyone milling around there was a person doing a puzzle. Ugh not a place for mom. We walked into The Meridian at Stone Creek not what we had visited previously. There were residents visiting and enjoying a outdoor space, some in the snack bar and also in the library. The staff were very welcoming which all had been but the atmosphere was different. You walk in and it seems more like a hotel. Mom was excited we were shown several apartments and SHE said “I think I can live here” surprise! Before we left she had picked out a apartment and she was in. We moved her in two weeks ago she’s making new friends she’s loving it. She’s busy
