Top notch living at a reasonable cost
This facility is very well run, and the layout is what really impressed me the most. A lot of places have long hallways that seem very much like a hotel and create potential confusion for residents trying to find their rooms and a sense of disconnectedness. At Highlands all of the rooms are around one big atrium that everyone comes out to socialize in and gather which makes it feel very open and welcoming. The staff is kind and friendly and while no place is 100% perfect, all of my mom’s needs have been met and the staff is very friendly and quick to address any concerns. The facility is clean and they put a strong emphasis on activities for the residents which is great!

We chose Highland Senior Living Rome because of the cleanliness of the facility and the professional staff. I would tell others just to ask a lot of questions before making a final decision.

Simply Perfect
From the moment we walked in the front door for our tour, we knew this was the perfect place for my dad. The air is fresh, the facility is extremely clean, residents interacting in the common spaces, and a staff that is super amazing. They go above and beyond to provide personalized assistance regardless if it is an assisted living or memory care resident. There are activities daily to keep residents active and interacting. The food is top notch. They have taken amazing care of my dad from day 1 with everyone welcoming him to keeping him up and active in memory care. I couldn’t have a better choice for him and his care.

Great experience
We had a family vacation set up that our grandmother was not gonna be able to participate in due to her health condition so we moved her in to Highlands for a respite stay and although she was only there for a couple of weeks. The experience was phenomenal and if we decide she needs long-term help we will definitely be moving her into Highlands Rome

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Georgia regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Georgia regulations for Assisted Living.

about The Gardens of Rome

The Gardens of Rome offers Studio. Learn more.

A Place for Mom has scored The Gardens of Rome 9.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
