Healdsburg Senior Living

The food is sub-standard. They are short staffed and can take awhile to follow up on requests. I would only recommend them because I don't think you'd see much difference in other facilities, unless we paid a lot more. Everyone is very patient and kind, and does their best to support and care for the residents. That said, they are short staffed which can be problematic.

[name removed] and her whole team were MAGNIFICENT! Putting on a western cowboy family party and bbq! Everyone dressed in cowboy gear [name removed] and all of us residents loved it! So fun!

The animals and gardens are such a great experience for their residents. Love the management staff.

I love everything about Headlsburg Senior Living. The staff, the grounds, the rooms! I toured this community and knew right away that this is where I wanted my mother in law to be. [name removed] and her team are amazing- so warm and accommodating. This is home!

Our father has been a resident here for years. New management took over and the place has completely changed. Our fathers apartment is filthy, the carpet is a mess, and his toilet and bathroom are covered with feces and a pungent smell. Management refuses to return phone calls. Most of the previous staff has quit. We cannot get our phone calls answered for routine issues like doctor appointments to severe issues like a recent fall our father had there. Management keeps raising the rates without providing basic services such as housekeeping and transportation. Family groups have had to communicate with each other…still without response of correction of problems. We do not recommend until management is changed and issues are resolved. How do you not answer phone calls and blame the phone company for over a year?

This formerly family owned facility was a loving and professional home until it was sold to Pacifica Senior Living. There are multiple Covid cases but only family members of those infected are informed so there is no way to know how many infections there are. Staff is entirely unsupervised and their duties are not being reliably performed. There are staff members struggling to do the right thing but the shortage of staff makes their efforts nothing short of heroic. Multiple complaints have been filed with the state and various penalties are under consideration. I urge you to call California Community Care Licensing before even risking a tour.

Healdsburg senior living community is the most unique and wonderful senior care community I’ve ever seen Beautiful gardens to work in or just admire cute little goats that you can just love on there just so cute. [name removed] marketing director was such a nice calm person. He’s a sweet man. The food is wonderful the staff is so nice. I was surprised how homey this place is.

My mother spent the last 7 years of her life at the Healdsburg Senior Living Community. It was home to Mom and for us too due to the caring, warm and creative environment the staff have created there. At every visit, it was touching to see all the staffs interaction with the residents. They would go out of their way to make them feel wanted and comfortable, and to engage with them. There were always a lot of activities going on and much engagement with the outside community from school kids to local musicians. The remarkable garden and animals at the facility really created a wonderful addition and place of involvement. They were the perfect place to visit and invaluable when grandchildren were along. The gardens gave my mother the opportunity to see and be inspired by life again. The vegetables brought back many memories of her childhood and the chickens just made her laugh. The facility was always perfectly clean. It was such a pleasure to get to know everyone there over the years. My mother was in skilled nursing at the end of her life. The nurses gave her wonderful loving care. I’m so glad my mother was there. There are too many people to thank- Rob the director, [name removed], community engagement, who came up with the idea of the garden and animals, to [name removed] in charge of activities to my mother’s last nurses, [names removed].

Staff treat my 95 y.o. Mother like family which has proven so important during the current isolation of residents. She is treated with individual caring that is reassuring since I am limited in what I can do for her. But even before that the facility was a comfortable place with a very homey vibe.The rooms are spacious, filled with light, Kept very clean and are either overlooking rolling lawns or the incredible garden. The garden! The passion of [name removed], a man who is truly in a job for which he is quintessentially suited. The garden, which was designed by [name removed] and is supported by a an able team of gardeners, features an amazing variety of flowers, and in The summer vegetables abound. This year there were regular afternoon parties that featured whatever the garden was offering. My mother loved it. She also enjoys the antics of the three goats who live with some of the most beautiful chickens I’ve ever seen. There is tremendous heart here. Beth, commander of the front desk, brings so much sincere caring to her Job, I will be forever in her debt for the texted photos of Mom participating in activities-bingo,Yahtzee, root beer float parties, flower arranging-to name a few. These snaps help both my mother and me feel connected. Impromptu FaceTime calls, when Mom is having a bad day, are also so beneficial. An eternity of thanks to all these brave and generous people who have stepped into the role of family as well as caregivers.

Such a beautiful community. From Assisted Living, Memory Care to Skilled Nursing, you couldn't ask for a better place. Staff is wonderful, from management to care givers, activity staff, everyone! They are great with the residents meeting their needs with care and compassion. One of the great things you will see is the beautiful garden! [name removed] does a wonderful job year after year planning and organizing the garden. Residents help with planting seeds and when they are ready, in the garden they go! Beautiful flowers that can be cut and used for decorating. The residents enjoy seeing the outcome of their planting! Beautiful to take the residents for an afternoon walk and see the beauty.

Healdsburg Senior Living, A Pacifica Community should be the model for all of our nation's Assisted Living Centers. The visionary [name removed] and the most open minded Executive Director [name removed], have created a team of leaders and staff whose sole purpose is to find engaging and creative ways to bring joy and purpose into the lives of seniors. From the most amazing garden, with miniature goats and chickens, to a walking path that incorporates rehabilitation activities along the way, to events such as professional stage shows out of Las Vegas, to every new resident in Memory Care receiving headphones to use for Music and Memory, there is never any expense spared in bringing fun to the residents of this community. I've never seen anything like their "Communiversity" where hundreds of young people from the local school district get involved with seniors. Kindergarten kids come and help seniors learn how to use Ipads, teens in the agriculture classes help the seniors garden, film students learn how to make documentaries using the stories of seniors. It is impossible to list all that has been done in this community through the years, but suffice it to say, I could never let any of my family members go anywhere other than to Healdsburg Senior Living, because there I saw the staff treat them as they would their own grandparents.

What a garden spot! Literally! I have had the opportunity to visit Healdsburg Senior Living numerous times over the years and have watched the garden evolve from a little plot on the south side to the amazing space on the west side that includes vegetables, flowers, a touching garden, chickens, goats, arches, bee hives, worm bins(!) and gazebos. With the support of [name removed], this brain child of [name removed] has become one of the many features that make HSL such a special place for Senior living.

Senior Living in the Wine Country done right! [Name removed] and [name removed] are top notch, wonderful people that understand and cater to the needs of their residents! And what a gorgeous setting with the ever changing and evolving flower and vegetable garden, not to mention the goats, chicken and the bees. Thank you, Healdsburg Senior Living for being a true Gem in the community

This is a magical place that cares for seniors in a way every child would want their loved one cared for. Our family is so lucky to have found Healdsburg Senior Living. And though we found it by accident, we think it was meant to be! As I was on a weekend drive with my mom we came across this lush property with balloons and decorations advertising a special event. I jokingly told my mom we should crash it, and my very proper mom said, lets! So we did and to our surprise Patch Adams was the featured special guest speaker. He is the the doctor who famously dresses up with a clown nose and jokes with patients . Robin Williams portrayed him on screen. Adams is also a serious advocate about the importance of loving care and connection to patients. [Name removed] is an advocate of that as well. He has the title of Marketing Director at Healdsburg Senior Living but he does much more than that. He is responsible for bringing Patch Adams along with so many other programs and events to the property. This includes Music & Memory where Alzheimer's patients are paired up with the music of their youth and often have moments of great clarity as they listen to the tunes. My beautiful mother was able to feel at home and able to walk and even work in the property's gorgeous gardens and fruit and vegetable fields. She felt like she was on her childhood farm. There are goats, chickens and school children even visit the property which brings such energy to the Seniors who never ever feel locked in. Mom has been in 4 places and all are properties where seniors who needed special care were basically locked in and warehoused. They were often medicated at these facilities to keep them placated, as giving them one on one attention would be too hard with so few staff on hand. Healdsburg Senior Living is one in a million. It should be the place others emulate to honor our moms, dads, grandparents and others who deserve kindness and respect. We will always be grateful for [name removed] and the staff for caring for our mom as though she was their own.

I have just been started going to Healdsburg Senior Living since the COVID-19 started. The staff are are friendly, caring and being safe. The seniors seem happy living there. The gardens are beautiful, the goats are friendly and there is a variety of chicken breeds. They know have 2 beehives for the gardens and residences to enjoy. It is also great that their activities for the seniors and when the COVID-19 is over they should be having students again engaging with the residences. It is like know other senior residence that I have seen and that is a complement.

I have had many occasions to visit and participate in events at Healdsburg Senior Living over the years. Truly a beautiful assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing facility. I'm grateful to be able to see first hand the many amazing activities and engagement for not only the residents , but the families and community. I applaud [name removed] for his dedication and hard work to implementing such amazing enrichment to their Seniors. He has gone above and beyond in raising the bar in Senior Living.

I have a very good friend who lives at Healdsburg Senior Living. I've visited him several times over the years, including when he was in the medical care unit. Every time I've been impressed with the staff and the facilities. They always show a very caring and respectful attitude toward the senior residents. They also go the extra mile to make them feel special. Most recently, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, they organized a special celebration for a WWII veteran who turned 100. Great care was paid to the safety of the residents, while also ensuring they had fun. No detail was left to chance. The veteran was not only surprised, but also greatly appreciative of manner in which he was honored by many (including several sectors of the Healdsbug government, friends and family, a local air museum, etc). The Community Affairs Director, [name removed], is one of the most caring individuals I've ever met, and I visit friends in many other senior living facilities in Sonoma County. He and others deserve the highest accolades for the wonderful living environment they have created for the resident.

This is a wonderful place ...they have been amazing during the Covid crisis they were diligent far before Government requirements cane in ...when we are nit in Covid they are excellent at integrating the community with the facility .

[Name removed] and Pacifica Senior Living/Healdsburg Senior Living have it going on! I am not only a family who has taken this journey, but I am also a 22 year Senior Care Family Consultant so I do not give it away. If only we could clone [name removed]! Healdsburg should be the gold star standard! The garden....the beehives....the farm animal babies! Just the absolute BEST! If you haven't seen this property, you need to go. Just amazing. The culture of retirement/assisted living should all be required to use this approach at providing communal living that matters and gives back. BRAVO, [name removed] and Pacifica Senior Living/Healdsburg Senior Living. Magnificent!
